Tech-minded middle and high school students are invited to become founding members of Yukōdit’s new youth game studio and learn the ropes of video game making with the pros from award-winning indie game developer E-Line Media. Participants will follow the same processes used in professional studios, assuming multiple roles on the game team (e.g. designer, engineer and artist).
Building on its success delivering hands-on instruction in coding and design-thinking for elementary school-aged students, Yukōdit is pleased to extend an offering for older students who are seriously considering a career in the fast-growing industry of game design. By joining the game studio, students will discover the fundamentals of game making by completing a series of introductory projects for 2D, 3D and Virtual Reality (VR) in partnership with seasoned instructors and game industry pros. At the same time, students will receive hands-on instruction in game development and coding (in the C# language) using Unity, an industry-standard game making tool. As they progress, students will have the opportunity to take on team-based design challenges, create original games and learn more advanced development techniques.
